چکیده
Introduction:
Thyrotoxic Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis (THPP) is a rare hereditary disorder which characterized by thyroid hormone elevation, low blood potassium level and recurrent acute muscle weakness. Basic pathology thought to be the increase in activity sodium-potassium pump (Na+/K+ATPase). Case report: Here we report case of 31-year-old male that presented with weakness his legs, inability walk. The patient had elevated levels (FT3 FT4) lower TSH levels, serum diagnosis was made precipitated after intense physical activity. Conclusion: THPP reversible medical emergency. Early diagnosis, rapid treatment lifesaving. Although rare, must considered as differential patients presenting hypokalemia paralysis.

Thyrotoxic hypokalemic periodic paralysis is an uncommon complication of thyrotoxicosis, characterized by attacks of generalized muscular weakness associated with hypokalemia in patients with hyperthyroidism, most frequently with Graves-Basedow disease. Treatment with antithyroid drugs and potassium supplements reversed the symptoms and the episodes of acute muscular weakness did not reappear.
